Author Speaking at Luncheon to Benefit Support Connection

Award-winning author Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard will talk about her inspiring journey & read from her most recent book "The Beauty Doctor"

Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard, an award-winning author of historical fiction, will speak at a benefit luncheon on Wed., May 2, from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm at Peter Pratt's Inn, 673 Croton Heights Road, Yorktown Heights, NY. Proceeds from the event will benefit Support Connection, Inc., a Yorktown-based not-for-profit organization that provides free, confidential support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

Ms. Hutchison Bernard’s background encompasses a number of fascinating careers: performing musician and songwriter; public relations professional in the music industry; Director of Communications for the nation's largest organization of board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeons; Executive Editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal; and consultant to the National Cosmetic Network and Johns Hopkins University's plastic surgery film series. Yet, beginning as early as fifth grade, she wanted to be a novelist!

At the luncheon, Ms. Hutchison Bernard will discuss her inspiring journey. She will also read excerpts from her recent release, The Beauty Doctor, a suspenseful tale that takes place in 1907, when the world of medicine was a bit like the Wild West and so-called beauty doctors were the newest breed of outlaw. It has been described as "historical fiction meets macabre thriller."
