Bicyclist Struck By Car; Police Seek Information

Yorktown police described the minivan or SUV and have asked the public to help ID it.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown police are asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle — possibly a minivan or SUV — that may have been involved in an accident that resulted in injury to a bicyclist Sunday. The incident happened on Birdsall Drive at the crossing area of the North County Trailway.

Police said a gray-colored minivan or SUV with damage to the passenger side is sought.

The vehicle is reported to have at least one tinted window missing from the passenger side, according to the police.

The preliminary investigation indicated that a bicyclist crossing Birdsall Drive collided with the minivan or SUV.

Police said the bicyclist suffered serious injuries.

The Yorktown Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the owner or driver of the gray minivan or SUV.
