Lakeland/Panas came away with a 15-7 triumph at Yorktown April 18 as per Isaac Cass' game story on MSG Varsity.

UConn-bound Alexa Bonnes registered three goals, including the 100th of her career, for the Rebels. Fresno State-bound Chyna Hill tallied three goals.

Teammate Emma Bozek, who will play field hockey next year at North Carolina, led Lakeland/Panas with a game-high four goals and two assists. 

Amanda Vasta (two goals), Megan Bradbury (one goal), Taylor Scialdone (one goal) and Molly Fitzpatrick (one goal) also contributed to the scoring column for the Rebels.

Lakeland/Panas first-year starting goalie Amelia Lopez made a career high 16 saves.

Registering points for Yorktown were Emalee Mongno, who paced the Huskers with three goals and one assist, Bianca Raniolo (one goal, two assists), Emily Concialdi (two goals), Stefanie Ranagan (two assists), Gaby Berne (one goal) and Kara Starkey (one goal).

Softball

We thank Yorktown coach John McKenna for the below submission:

Yorktown defeated visiting Somers 15-3 behind Nicole Wilson who pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run while recording 10 strikeouts. Offensively, she was 2-5 with 2 RBI.

The rest of her teammates backed her pitching effort with a 15-run and 20-hit effort. Yorktown's offense was led by Miwa Wenzel with a 4-4 day with 3 RBI.

Lindsay Fedo had a 3-5 day with 3 RBI. Marly Becker also enjoyed a 3-5 game at the plate with a double and an RBI. Leanne Farmer had a 4-4 day with 3 RBI and a double. All around solid team effort up and down the line up. 

Baseball

Yorktown defeated visiting Somers in eight innings 6-5 according to Vincent Mercogliano's post on the LoHud Baseball Blog.

Husker Scott Russo had a suicide squeeze with runners on second and third and no one out in the eighth inning, which scored Brian Redahan for the game-winning run.

Yorktown's Doug Fitzmorris hit a grand slam in the third inning.

Mercogliano also reported that on the same day Lakeland defeated visiting Walter Panas 4-1. Matt Wright had two RBI for Lakeland.
