'Celebrate Somers' To Feature Local Businesses, Music
There will be amusements and games for the kids, a Gaga Pit (sponsored by Summer Trails Day Camp) and a large obstacle course.
SOMERS, NY — The fifth annual Somers community day — "Celebrate Somers” — will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. The event will take place in the Somers Town Shopping Center, which is located at 325 Route 100. Organizers said it will be a fun-filled day of events and activities from many of Somers’ local businesses.
In addition, there will be entertainment throughout the day including a DJ, dancers from local dance schools, live music by the home-grown band "Gilbert,” among others. The roads through the shopping center will be closed all day starting at CVS and stretching to Astoria Bank.
