This week at there was a chill in the air for the 9 A.M game, but things heated up quickly with a close contest between The Naturals and the Outsiders North. The Naturals jumped out to a nice lead only to have the Outsiders fight their way back. Great play all around. The Naturals were able to pull this one out 8-7.
The 10:30 game featured the Comeback Kids taking on the Dream Team. The Comeback Kids, coming off their first loss in 2 seasons, were determined to take the dream out of the team. That’s just what they did — winning 15-1 with tough hitting and serious speed on the bases. However, the score doesn’t do justice to the Dream Team, who held their own in the later innings after giving up some early runs. The dreamers’ solo run was made possible by a tremendous blast over the right field fence off the bat of switch-hitting Dave Rocco. Rocco finished the day with a perfect 2 for 2, getting hits from both sides of the plate! Way to go Dave.
The Kids came back! The Naturals seem to be just that! The Outsiders were on the outside this week, but they’ll be in it in weeks to come! The Dream Team will awaken from their dream and rub the sleep from their eyes as they build for the rest of the season.
Next week’s match ups: The Kids battle the Hit Squad, Grizzly Bats take on the Outsiders North and The Naturals take on the Dream Team.
