Comedians for a Cure: A Benefit for Relay for Life

Relay for Life of Yorktown & the Paramount Team Up for Comedy Night Fundraiser!

YORKTOWN, NY, APRIL 2- Relay for Life of Yorktown and the Paramount Theater present a comedy night fundraiser on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 7:00PM. Comedians include John Iavarone, Caitlin Peluffo, Kevin Brown and Mark “Jiggy” Jigarjian.

Relay for Life of Yorktown lead event volunteer, Kristina Iennaco, is partnering with the Paramount and Roger Paul Inc. to put on a comedy night fundraiser. This night is going to be a night that cancer can’t take away from us!

The inspiration for hosting a large comedy night fundraiser began several years ago when Iennaco’s Aunt Carol Kinghan was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. As a way to be a part of her fight, Iennaco along with her sister Stefanie and mother Donna, joined Relay for Life of Yorktown. After 5 years of participating in Relay for Life & raising over $25,000 for the cause, Iennaco decided now was the time to go even bigger. After quickly settling on the idea of hosting a comedy night- she got to work.

Iennaco and the Paramount began their partnership in the fall of 2017 with excitement of the opportunities that could come from joining forces. In March of 2018, Iennaco teamed up with Roger Paul Inc to bring together comedians that could not only draw a crowd, but who are connected to the cause. In addition to the three comedians booked with Roger Paul Inc; Caitlin Peluffo, Kevin Brown and Mark “Jiggy” Jigargian; local comedian John Iavarone, a caregiver, joined the lineup in honor of his sister Angelina who passed away from breast cancer.

The “Comedians for a Cure” benefit will take place on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Ticket prices will range from $25-$75 and all proceeds will benefit Relay for Life of Yorktown. Through 50/50 and other raffle prizes, volunteers will raise additional money throughout the event.
