Cosmo Grad Gives Tech Students a Makeover

Whether they wanted to look fresh faced and glamorous or like a character in a sci-fi movie, Cosmetology students at The Tech Center got their wish last week, when Tech Center alum and professional makeup artist Marina Castiglione visited their classroom.

Castiglione came to her former class on the campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES to give something back to the school where “I got my start in the beauty industry,” she said. Castiglione currently works as a makeup artist in a salon in Jefferson Valley. She demonstrated basic makeup techniques for the students as well as avant garde looks for the more adventurous. “It’s an honor to give back to my school,” she said.

Her teacher, Deborah Busatti, applauds Castiglione’s accomplishments. “When our students come back and we see all they have achieved, it makes all our efforts as teachers worthwhile,” said Busatti. “I couldn’t be more proud of how talented Marina has become.”
