Every year the Yorktown Grange Fair gives local residents the opportunity to showcase their talents in a variety of categories by entering contests, exhibiting their finest work at the fair, and perhaps winning a blue ribbon for all to see. There are lots of categories to choose from, each with different age divisions – far too many to list here. But if you go to www.yorktowngrangefair.org/contests there is a contest booklet that details every category available and it’s specific guidelines. All contests are free to enter, and all entries will be on exhibit during the Fair.
So go online, decide which contests will best showcase your talents (yes, you can enter more than one), and plan ahead to submit your entries by the following deadlines:
Needlework, (all divisions):

Monday, 9/7 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm; Tuesday, 9/8 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Photography and Artwork, (all divisions):

Legos constructions, (kids, all ages):
Monday, 9/7 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm; Tuesday, 9/8 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Baking, (see entry booklet for which categories are judged on each day):
Wednesday, 9/9 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm – judging at 8:30 (closed to the public)
Thursday, 9/10 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm – judging at 8:30 (closed to the public)
Flowers and Produce, (all divisions):
Thursday, 9/10 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm; Friday 9/11 from 7:30am to 9:00am
Judging at 9:00am on 9/11 (closed to the public)
Livestock, (all divisions):
Must contact livestock chairperson at livestock@yorktowngrangefair.org by August 28th to participate. All animals must be check in on Thursday, 9/10 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
