Foamfest: Dancing, Live Performances and Foam Fun
The Fireman's Fields was the host location for Foamfest.
Several hundred young men and women packed the Fireman’s Fields in Yorktown on Saturday for the "."
As the pre-concert music played and welcomed the teens, who began to go through the security screening by the Yorktown Police department, a field of green awaited beyond the gate. At the concession stand, Yorktown Heights Fire Department members were volunteering by serving everything from hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken fingers, water and some energy drinks.
Anticipation loomed in the air as more people entered.

Bailey Stewart, 16, who came with four of her friends -- Carlee Corkery, Colleen Billings, Megan Maiorano and Kennedy Sherman --found out about the event via the social networking site Facebook, two months ago and have been looking forward to the concert. She said she was expecting "foam and dancing; a good time, lots of fun." The festivities would be a closing to their summer extravaganza and an opportunity have experienced something unique.
As music continued to poor out of the speaker systems and cover the radius of the field, teens huddled into groups and began to dance. Beginning to celebrate, as the song, “One More Time,” by Daft Punk, dictated.

"I am looking for a good time with me and my best friends," said Molly Kelly, from Yorktown Heights, who wasn't sure what to expect from what she called "a wet mess."
Local teens were not the only ones who came to enjoy Foamfest. Aaron Conception, from Yonkers, shared this experience with his girlfriend and some friends. He had heard of similar events, but hadn't experience any in Westchester.
As the sun set, the live entertainment began with Dance group, One Expression, with B Girl Nicole aka “Nikki;” and Rappers Jon Jon’z and P. Jinx. The foam machine began expelling what the audience had been waiting for. The anticipation was over as teens entered a pool of foam, that engulfed those closest to the dispelling mechanism.
Dancing, live performances and foam was exactly what was promised by promoter Duncan Abdelnour.
