Gaels Win Opener

We thank Kennedy Catholic boys lacrosse coaches and Lakeland graduates Vin and Nick Savastano for the below submission of its March 24 contest. We also congratulate Yorktown resident Nick Garofano on his oustanding effort:

Note: Jason Manzari, who lives in the Lakeland School District, also plays for Kennedy Catholic.

Background

This is the third year for the Savastano's coaching at Kennedy Catholic.

First year Gaels lost to Pearl River 10-1.  

Second year beat the Pirates 4-3.

Coach's comments:

"It was a great game. We came out to a quick 2-0 lead, before exploding in the second quarter with a 6-1 lead and led 7-2 at half. We then took a commanding 12-2 lead before winning 12-4."

"It was a great team effort and we were excited to get Kennedy Catholic's first win the new turf field. The kids did an amazing job excecuting the game plan and we are excited about our potential this season."

Senior Games 

The Section 1 Boys Basketball Senior Exceptional Games were held at Sleepy Hollow High School Sunday afternoon.
