Hornets Explode: Yorktown Daily Sports Digest, April 4

Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Yorktown.

Lakeland Sizzles

The bats on the Lakeland softball team were on fire in its 22-8 triumph at Mahopac March 30.

Jada Draffin and teammate Alexandra Wright paced Lakeland with three hits apiece. Draffin went 3 for 5 with a double and four RBI while Wright went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBI. Teammates Victoria Lischinsky went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBI and Felicia Costanzo tallied two hits and two RBI.

The Hornets have scored 33 runs in their first two games on their way to a 2-0 start.

Huskers Roll

Yorktown's Gaby Berne scored nine goals with teammate Stefanie Ranagan registering four goals and six assists in the Huskers' 20-9 girls lacrosse triumph at Arlington March 30 according to Gina Pernicano's post on the LoHud Girls Lacrosse Blog.
