The below are the Yorktown Huskers who received postseason honors. We congratulate them on their well-deserved awards and thank Brian Rooney for going all-out in compiling the below:
Ryan Fagan
All-League and Honorable Mention All Section

Right fielder led team with 3 Home Runs and 21 RBI’s while batting .328 with an on base percentage of .428 and 16 runs scored. Hit game winning home runs vs. Lakeland and North Salem.
Danny Rooney
All-League and Honorable Mention All Section
First baseman led team with 26 hits and 35 total bases while batting .361 with an on base percentage of .440 and 14 runs scored. Number one Starting pitcher with 2 wins and 1 save and a 3.52 ERA in 43 2/3 innings pitched.
Brian Redahan
All-League
Yorktown’s third baseman and closer with 4 saves while striking out 29 batters in 21 2/3 innings. Also batted .333 with 13 RBI’s and 12 runs scored while hitting the game winning home run vs Hen Hud.
Scott Russo
All-League
Junior second baseman batted .355 with a team leading on base percentage of .480 to go along with 17 RBI’s and 11 runs scored.
Timmy Keiling
Honorable Mention All-League
Junior 1B/DH batted .439 with 18 hits and a .585 slugging percentage. Along with Russo, he is expected to be a significant contributor to Yorktown’s success next year.
Preston Zanon
Honorable Mention All-League
Third baseman/starting pitcher led starters with 3 victories and a 2.93 ERA while striking out 24 batters in 28 2/3 innings. Also had a .402 on base percentage and tied for team lead with 5 doubles.
Boys Lax
Tryouts for the Hudson Valley team that will play in the inaugural Empire State Cup will be held at Somers High School June 11 and June 21 at 4 p.m. according to Mike Dougherty's post on the LoHud Boys Lacrosse Blog.
Any player from the region currently in grades 8 through 12 is eligible to participate. This is a showcase for All-Stars, and there is a $75 tryout fee.
All interested participants need to register by June 10 at empirestatecup.com.
