Yorktown came away with a big win on opening night March 29, by beating host Lakeland in baseball 6-1 with Dan Rooney being the winning pitcher for the Huskers.

LHS prevails in Softball
When it came to softball, it was the Hornets that prevailed over the visiting Huskers 11-10 on March 29.
Lakeland's Kayla Muniz went 2 for 4 with a double, a run and three RBI and teammate Alexandra Wright went 2 for 4 with two runs and one RBI for Lakeland with Yorktown's Marley Becker tallying a home run and two RBI according to Rob Cristino's post on the LoHud Softball Blog.
Rebels Win
Lakeland/Panas enjoyed success at home March 28, defeating Hendrick Hudson 18-5.
Alexa Bonnes scored a game-high seven goals and in addition had an assist. Teammates Megan Bradbury and Molly Fitzpatrick each scored three goals apiece.
