Kid had Knife in Middle School Locker: Police

A 14-year-old Crompond resident has been charged as a juvenile delinquent.

The staff at Lakeland-Copper Beech Middle School told their School Resource Officer on Nov. 5 that one of the students had a knife, according to Yorktown police.

He investigated, and allegedly found a dangerous knife in a locker belonging to a 14-year-old Crompond resident.

The boy was arrested at the scene, then released into the custody of his parent, police said. He is charged with juvenile delinquency -- the underlying charge is possession of a weapon by a person under 16 -- and is due to appear at the Department of Probation Nov. 19.
