Lakeland Field Hockey Team Wins Third Consecutive State Championship

The  field hockey team won their third consecutive New York State Championship with a 3-1 victory over Long Island's Garden City High School.

Shannon Scavelli scored twice and Emma Bozek once to lead an outstanding team effort versus a tough Garden City team that had not lost this year. Scavelli, a senior, caps off her record-setting year with her 47 and 48th goals.

Lakeland defeated Garden City in last year's state championship. The Hornets of Lakeland defeated Camden High School 7-0 on Saturday in the Semifinals at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
