Lakeland Students Compete in IHOP Flipping Contest to Raise Funds for Maria Fareri

Students from Wendy Ganz' AP Chemistry Class participate in Flip for Kids Contest at Mohegan Lake IHOP as part of nationwide IHOP fundraiser

To raise awareness for National Pancake Day March 7 which benefits local children’s hospitals, ten students from Lakeland High School’s AP chemistry class recently faced off in a Flip For Kids pancake-flipping contest to help raise money for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. The event, which is part of a month-long fundraiser for children’s hospitals in cooperation with IHOP® Restaurants nationwide, was held February 27 at the IHOP restaurant in Mohegan Lake. The fundraiser ends March 7 with National Pancake Day, a day when IHOP offers one free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes per customer in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals of which Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital is a member. So far, the Mohegan Lake IHOP has raised more than $18,000 in donations for the hospital.
