The Huskers will host the winner of No. 9 Horace Greeley-No. 8 Fox Lane in a quarterfinal contest on Tuesday at a time to be announced.

Yorktown ended the regular season losing to visiting Wilton 12-11 in the Jim Turnbull Cup contest on Tuesday night.

Trailing 12-7, the Huskers mounted a furious rally scoring four goals in the last 3:23 of the game. The first two of those goals were unassisted scores by Conor Gately (2G, 6A).

"We were just playing our game," Gately said. "We should've been doing that the first three quarters but it was a good wakeup call for the playoffs."

Gately also assisted on the third goal in that stretch, which came off the stick of Connor Vercruysse (3G). Nick Mariano (2G) scored an unassisted goal to pull the Huskers to within one with 13 seconds left but they couldn't get any closer.

"It was the same thing against St. Anthony's (a 13-12 loss on the road), we came out slow in the first half and we beat them in the second half," Gately said. "We just have to put together a full 48 minutes."

"It's frustrating at times because you know how much talent we have but talent doesn't buy wins," Gately added. "It showed tonight and it showed on Saturday against St. Anthony's. When we play our game, like we did at the end, we are as good as anyone."

Yorktown assistant coach Adam Lodewick, who was running the team in place of head coach Dave Marr, who was serving a suspension for his ejection against St. Anthony's, agrees with Gately.

"As an athlete, as a competitor, you have to find within yourself what is going to drive you to do that for a full 48 minutes," Lodewick said. "If these guys can find what is going to drive them for 48 minutes to play as hard as they did the last five, six minutes of the game, this is going to be a special team."

Frankie Fusco (3G, 1A), Brian Quigley (1G) and Austin Graham (12 saves) also were in the boxscore for the Huskers.

Lakeland/Panas

Lakeland/Panas also earned the No. 1 seed in Class A.

The Rebels will host the winner of No. 9 New Rochelle-No. 8 Wappingers in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at a time to be announced.

Emma Bozek led the Rebels with four points (3G, 1A).

Teammates Molly Fitzpatrick (3G) and Taylor Scialdone (2G, 1A) each registered three points apiece.
