Mohegan Lake Man Accused Of Causing Damage At Yorktown Home

Police said the judge issued orders of protection for the victim and witness.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake man was accused of damaging a house that resulted in a felony charge. Yorktown police said Jason Philip Paul, 38, of Mohegan Lake, was charged with third-degree criminal larceny, a felony.

Police said, around 4:30 a.m. Jan. 1, an officer responded to a Yorktown residence for a complaint about someone causing damage.

The investigation found that Paul intentionally broke a light fixture and damaged the house's siding. The damage amounted to $1,500, police said.

The officer tried to talk with Paul at the scene, but he wouldn't answer the door.

On Tuesday, Paul voluntarily appeared at Yorktown Police Headquarters and was arrested and processed.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. The judge issued temporary orders of protections for the victim and witness.

Paul is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 18.
