The weather gods were good to all Mothers on Mother’s Day! What a beautiful day for Mom and spectacular day of softball (not sure that is what Mom had in mind).
The Comeback Kids came out of the gate with 5 runs in the first inning. Looked like they where going to put a hitting on the Hit Squad, but that was not to be with the Hit Squad roaring back, shutting them down and taking the game 11 to 5. We need to see a little more comeback from our intrepid Kids!
The Naturals, with the noticeable absence of captain Andrew (just ask his teammates), kept their undefeated season alive with a win over The Dream Team. Tom Cavalieri of YSA predicts that The Dream Team will make a late push in the season — they put up a good fight only to fall by a score of 12 to 2.
The Grizzly Bats made the Outsiders North feel like outsiders. Though the Grizzly Bats played a great game, Outsiders North seemed to be off their game on Sunday, contributing to the lopsided 19 to 10 score. Lots of action in this game! Both teams are packed with power and speed and will be there in the end.
All in all, whether your team won or lost, it was a great day to be out on the field. Fresh air, sun, fun and laughs makes this what it this all about!
Next week the Naturals and the Hit Squad, both hot off this week’s victories, meet in the 9 AM game. The Comeback Kids will have a chance to reclaim their name, and rebuild their season, against the Outsiders North at 10:30. Don’t count either of these teams out — they are better than their respective records so far. Also at 10:30 The Grizzly Bats will take on The Dream Team. The Dream Team will surely be eager to taste victory and will have a worthy opponent in The ‘Bats.
