Peekskill Man Faces Drug, License Charges after Traffic Stop in Yorktown

Police said he was stopped on the Taconic Parkway for speeding.

YORKTOWN, NY — New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested Chen L. Hankins, 31, of Peekskill, New York, on Monday. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony; and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, a Misdemeanor.

Police said that state troopers stopped a 1991 Acura operated by Hankins on May 8 on the Taconic State Parkway for speeding.

An investigation revealed that Hankins’ driving privileges were suspended. Police alleged they also discovered that Hankins possessed MDMA, a hallucinogen known as ecstasy.

Hankins was arraigned in the Town of Yorktown Court by Judge Salvatore A. Lagonia and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
