The intensive search led to three schools being put on lockout.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam County man has been arrested for attempted burglaries that cause three area schools to go into lockout.

Yorktown Police said Paul H. Rivera, 28, of Schuyler Lane in Garrison, was charged with two counts of second-degree attempted burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, all felonies.

Police said a call was received around 8:45 a.m. Feb. 2 from a Shrub Oak resident saying that a man had just tried to get into the resident’s home through a sliding glass window.
