SHABBAT MEET-UP
Meet your local Jewish community for a spirited reception on the third Friday of each month.

Meet-Ups, where like-minded people get together to do what it is they have in common like sailing or wine tasting, will now include a Shabbat Meet-Up where people can connect to the Jewish community in Northern Westchester and nearby Putnam. On the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m., First Hebrew will host a Shabbat Meet-Up featuring a wine and cheese reception before Friday night services.
“As an inclusive congregation, everyone is welcome at First Hebrew regardless of whether you are affiliated with a synagogue or not, from an interfaith family or simply interested in Judaism,”” said First Hebrew’s newly appointed Rabbi Dana Z. Bogatz. “Jewish living is a choice,” the Rabbi is fond of saying, “and there should be choices for Jews at every level - spiritual, intellectual, practical - and First Hebrew provides those choices in a welcoming and nonjudgmental manner with programs that enable one’s own Jewish journey, like our new Shabbat Meet-Up.”
“If you haven’t connected in a long time, the Shabbat Meet-Up is a good way to ease into reconnecting with your Jewish identity, and with your Jewish community, “said First Hebrew’s new President Chuck Newman, “It’s relaxing and gregarious. Maybe it’s the only Jewish thing you’ll be doing for now, and that’s fine. We’re open to all Jews in the area however they wish to connect Jewishly.”
