Support Robert Kesten: Finding solutions to the heath care crisis in NY
Letter to the Editor:
Now more than ever, I am writing to endorse Robert Kesten’s position on health care and single payer insurance for all New Yorkers. Having just finished reading the AARP Money article, The High Cost of Cancer Care (Peter Moore, AARP The Magazine, June/July 2018), I am again struck by the cruel and reckless medical insurance crisis brought upon us by the dismantling of the American Care Act by the Trump administration and his local crony, Terrence Murphy. I have heard our Democratic candidate for SD 40, Robert Kesten, address health care issues numerous times, and his position makes such utter sense: NYS must create a single payer insurance plan that will truly provide a safety net for all citizens. Robert views equal access to health care as a right of all citizens, and ironically, a single payer plan will save our state and community millions of dollars. Please remember that this is not socialized medicine; care would be based on need, not on ability to pay.
Terrence Murphy stands on the wrong side of so many issues, and unsurprisingly, in line with Trump and his total lack of care for the health and well being of all citizens. It is time to vote Terrance Murphy out of office, and to elect a true progressive who will help our state create a single payer insurance plan that will be a model for all states throughout our country. Elect Robert Kesten in SD 40!
