As we approach May’s most celebrated holiday (perhaps only second to Cinco de Mayo for some) I think of all the sacrifices our moms make for us. I remember being overwhelmed with so much work in my first year, when several dental students drop out, and fearing I would fail Gross Anatomy. I thank god and my mom for helping me weather an emotionally trying time. The salmon croquettes she made for me to bring back to school were an extended reminder of her love. Today I still crave them!
In my own practice as an orthodontist, I see the sacrifices of our mothers on a daily basis. Most Moms make the appointments, organize schedules, drives the children to and from appointments, sports, religious instruction and then return home to make dinner! Mothers are the ultimate multi taskers!

I wish all the mom’s a wonderful, safe Mother’s Day filled with love and pampering!
