Somers Library Foundation Preparing For Annual Book Sale

The foundation is seeking donated books and volunteers to help prepare for and work the sale.

SOMERS, NY — The Somers Library Foundation is preparing for its annual book sale, which is happening this year from April 24 to 26. To that end, it is putting out a call for books and volunteers.

Adult and children's hardcover and trade books will be accepted, but no regular paperbacks, according to organizers.

All books should be in excellent condition, meaning they should not have tears or be marked up or highlighted.

They should be dropped off inside the library, by the Community Room, whenever the library is open.

Volunteers will be needed through the last weekend of April when the sale will be held. People can volunteer for an hour or two at a time, a few hours a week or as much time as can be spared

Books will be sorted, organized and then stored.

Organizers said there will be a variety of jobs available at the sale, including sorting books by type and genre, moving books from storage to the library and and setting them up before the sale, managing cash registers assisting customers and keeping books orderly.
