Somers ZBA To Discuss Whether Landscape Company Is Nuisance

One neighbor said the noise from the company inside his home was as loud as a garbage disposal.

YORKTOWN, NY — The Somers Zoning Board of Appeals will continue a hearing March 20 about a local landscaping business that people say is loud and intrusive. Whispering Pine Landscape, located at 1 Windsor Rd. in Yorktown Heights, was sued, along with the Town of Somers, in 2016 by two Somers residents for noise that came from rock crushing and jackhammering.

One area resident, who works nights, had the noise level measured inside his home at about 80 decibels, which is the same as a garbage disposal, tapinto.net said.

A county Supreme Court Judge dismissed the suit against the town in June 2017, kicking back to the zoning board.
