Tech Center Distinguishes Yorktown Student

“I know he will be a police officer one day,” said Tech Center Law Enforcement teacher Tom Houlahan, speaking of his student John Liberatore. John, from Yorktown, was honored this week as Tech Center Student of Distinction in a ceremony that included Yorktown School District Superintendent Ralph Napolitano, P/NW BOCES Superintendent Jim Langlois, and Tech Center Principal Steve Lowery.

“John is a quiet leader,” Houlahan said. “He has a commanding presence and just the right makeup to go into any field in criminal justice. He also has a sense of humor, which is important as well, and is extremely self-disciplined.”

John plans to attend Westchester Community College in the fall to study criminal justice and eventually become a police officer. “The Tech Center has been a great experience for me,” John said, “because it gave me hands-on experience in law enforcement. I also learned a lot about New York State law.”
