Whether it was making a movie short or refinishing a car, Tech Center students on the campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES demonstrated their skills and took home prizes at the SkillsUSA state competition in Syracuse last week.
Charles Girven and Nicholas Furer took second place in Digital Cinema Production; Christina Zito took third for Automotive Refinishing Technology; Catherine McGuire took third for Health Occupations Portfolio; Stephen Herbert took third for Masonry; and Hawkon Gustavsson and Kevin Andrade took third for 3-D visualization.
Students were challenged to demonstrate their professional and technical skills through hands-on and written challenges against their peers throughout the state.
