Testing Emergency Response Plans on Indian Point: Drill Taking Place Wednesday
The scenario for tomorrow's exercise: a radiological emergency. Find out about the plan Westchester County has developed.

New York State will conduct a radiological emergency preparedness exercise on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Indian Point nuclear power plant complex.
The exercise will test the emergency response plans of Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties, as well as its own plans and those of Indian Point’s licensee, Entergy, officials said.
As part of it, public safety officials from New York State and the counties surrounding Indian Point are urging people to visit the websites listed below for information about IPEC, and familiarize themselves the plans that have been developed to protect the public in the event of an emergency at the plant.

- Log in to NY-Alert (“https://users.nyalert.gov/”) .
- At the “My Alerts - Home” screen, click on the “My Contact Information” button and enter information for “Cell Phone” (cell phone number and carrier). Ensure that the “Text Messages” option is selected, and click the “Submit” button to save.
