Well, maybe not exactly a splash, although the fields were wet and sloppy. All games were played in the chilly weather and with a little slipping and sliding. By the end of the first game the sun was shining and everyone had a great time.
A New Season, and New Teams Took Home All the Wins
At 9:00 A.M. the Grizzlies and the Outsiders North pounded it out with the Outsiders North doing a little more pounding to take their opening game. Both of these teams will be tough contenders in the league.
The Hit Squad bested the Dream Team, playing under some tough field conditions due the early morning rain. Looking for the Dreamers playing better going forward and running with the rest of the pack.
The 10:30 game saw The Comeback Kids try to make a come back, but they were held off by one of the new teams — the Naturals. In spite of playing short-handed, the Naturals were up to the task on Sunday, proving their mettle by handing the previously undefeated Kids their first loss in an 11-8 upset. The Kids might have been off their game, but they will still be one of the teams to reckon with as the season goes on.
Fun, laughter won the day.
