Thunderstorm Chance Saturday Leads to Hazardous Weather Outlook for Somers, Yorktown
We let you know when the severe weather is most likely to occur in case you have outdoor plans this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for potentially severe weather on Saturday and Saturday night for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
The National Weather Service said:
THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY NIGHT. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND HAIL.
But if you skip the potentially unsettled period of weather Saturday afternoon and evening, you’re looking at pretty great weather on Friday and Sunday. Here is a detailed look at the weekend forecast for northern Westchester County via the National Weather Service:

Sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight
Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 50s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday
Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and small hail in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. West winds around 5 mph...becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent.
Saturday Night
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Scattered thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and small hail in the evening. More humid with lows in the mid 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Sunday
Mostly sunny. Less humid with highs in the mid 70s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s.
