Here are the YAC Election results (see quotes below). There were 170 ballots but not every race adds up to that (VP 168, Registrar 169) because some ballots did not have every position checked.

The election was held Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at Mildred E. Strang Middle School. Each YAC member family can cast one ballot. They were counted by three people, including me and one person chosen by each team of candidates: Joe DiCanio for the incumbents, Greg Kuczinski for the challengers.

Quote from Rich Campanaro, YAC President: “Congratulations to everyone on the board for a job well done in getting us through another election. We won this because of all the dedication and hard work that the board put forth. I am proud and happy to work with them for another year. Now it’s time to get back to the business of the YAC.”
Quote from Bruce Apar, YAC Elections Chair and 18-year board member: “There is no more compelling sign of this 64-year old youth sports organization’s vitality and influence in the community than the recent string of opposition candidates challenging incumbent officers in the last three YAC elections. That’s dramatic progress from the days not long ago when YAC was lucky to have board members volunteer to occupy the leadership roles, which are daunting in complexity and require extreme commitments of time and energy. It’s heartening to see that youth sports clearly is the fastest growing segment of our entire sports culture, pro sports included. With major media like ESPN and MSG investing heavily to develop this audience by expanding their coverage, it has nowhere to go but up.”
