Town Board okays plan for more Granite Knolls ball fields
Town Board has requested permission from Albany give temporary and permanent easements at Sylvan Glen & Granite Knolls to pipeline company in exchange for improvements at Granite Knolls. Town auditor downplayed impact of 2013 pension shortfall.

1. Spectra/Granite Knolls/Sylvan Glen
The board voted 4-0 to send a Home Rule Message to the state legislature requesting the temporary and permanent alienation of portions of Sylvan Glen and Granite Knolls parkland to facilitate the expansion of the Algonqin gas pipeline, in return for which the company will make certain recreational improvements to Granite Knolls.
2. Sober House (Compass Westchester)
In a 3-1 vote, the board adjourned the public hearing to a future date to be determined. In voting no, Supervisor Grace said he thought the hearing could have been reconvened that evening.
3. 2013 Pension Shortfall
The town’s auditor said the shortfall was a matter of timing and not a mistake. He said the amount in the 2013 budget was correct.
4. Legislation to fill vacancies in elected positions
A public hearing on a revised local law will be held May 20.
5. Resolutions were approved for:
Granite Knolls Barn, resurfacing of the inline hockey rink, and rehabilitation of Route 202 ball fields.
6. Equal pay for women resolution
The board clarified its position on two different versions of bills in the state legislature dealing with equal pay for women, one of which included provisions in support of abortion.
