Unbelted, Uninsured, Unregistered

Police stopped a Yorktown man on East Main Street Saturday because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Yorktown police stopped a car on East Main Street at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 29 because they say an officer on patrol saw the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

During the ensuing traffic stop, police said they discovered that the vehicle’s registration was suspended and that it was uninsured.

Walter N. Arenas, 53, was charged with driving with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations: unrestrained driver and uninsured vehicle. He is due in town court Oct. 1.
