MSG Varsity's Isaac Cass' did a story on Yorktown, which includes the Huskers' homefield situation.

Yorktown will hold pre-season camp and play its first two home games at due to the fact that a new turf field is being installed at YHS's Charlie Murphy Field.

Yorktown coach Mike Rescigno said in the story that the goal is to return home for their Week 7 homecoming game against Pelham.

Pelham is coached by Yorktown graduate Justin Longobardi, who played on the Huskers' 1998 state semifinalist squad according to Josh Thomson's piece on the LoHud Varsity Insider.

One of Longobardi's assistant coaches is former Yorktown coach Ron Santavicca, who coached the Huskers to state titles in '93 and '94.

Officials Needed

Section 1 will host an Officials Recruiting Fair at Briarcliff HS gym on Wednesday, June 27 from 4-7 p.m. Officials are needed badly in all sports!
