Yorktown lost 1-0 in double overtime to visiting Clarkstown South in the quarterfinals of the Section 1 Class AA tournament on Nov. 2. Jacob Sigler made eight saves and Luis Lizarzaburu stopped six shots for the Huskers.

Field hockey
Lakeland won its Class B opening-round playoff contest against visiting Pearl River 9-0 on Wednesday. University of Michigan-bound Shannon Scavelli led the Hornets to the win with four goals and two assists.
Emma Bozek, who will be playing at the University of North Carolina next fall, contributed two goals and two assists for Lakeland.
Volleyball
Ursuline defeated visiting Yorktown 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-9) on Nov. 2 in the quarterfinals of the Class A tournament. Sam Strebel led the Huskers with nine assists while Erin Sweeney paced Yorktown with five kills.
