Yorktown Declares Snow Emergency Wednesday
The emergency declaration will be in effect until the roads are cleared.

YORKTOWN, NY — The Yorktown Town Supervisor Ilan Gilbert declared a snow emergency in Yorktown effective 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21. The emergency is expected to be in force until the town’s roads have been cleared of snowfall from the nor’easter moving though the Hudson Valley Wednesday.
The declaration is intended to help the town’s highway department in its efforts to clear the roads and to assist the emergency service agencies such as police, fire and emergency medical services.
Town code said “any vehicle parked or abandoned on a public highway in the Town of Yorktown during a snowstorm, flood fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway upon with said vehicle is parked or abandoned may be removed by or under the direction of the chief of police or the superintendent of highways and store in any suitable place.”
