Yorktown Group Runs Survey about $1.5 Million Pipeline Lease Money
Citizens for an Informed Yorktown is asking residents what they would like the money used for.

Last year, Yorktown issued a license to Spectra Energy to use parts of Granite Knolls West Park and Sylvan Glen Park Preserve as temporary workspace while it replaces its existing natural Algonquin gas pipeline with a larger one.
The company is doing the work in increments; so far it has announced the AIM, Atlantic Bridge and Access Northeast projects.
Yorktown received $1.5 million from Spectra for the license.

The group Citizens for an Informed Yorktown has created a survey to ask residents what they think that money should be used for.
"So far, our elected officials have been silent on what they plan to do with the $1.5 million," the organizers, who include co-founders Susan Siegel and Linda Miller, wrote on their website. "But many people believe that residents should have some input on how the money is used."
