Yorktown Heights FD Annual Parade Set For Wednesday

Police officials announced road closings for the annual event.

YORKTOWN, NY — Road closings have been announced for the upcoming Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department Annual Parade at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. The carnival, which will be located behind the firehouse of the Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No. 1 at 1916 Commerce St., will open after the parade and will stay open until 11 p.m.

The carnival will also be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon until closing Sunday.

To provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators, the following roadways will be closed from approximately 6:45 p.m. until the conclusion of the parade:

  • Underhill Avenue between Hanover Street and Route 118
  • Commerce Street between Route 202/35 and Underhill Avenue
  • Veterans Road between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street
  • Kear Street at Underhill Avenue
  • Downing Drive at Commerce Street
  • Hanover Road between Moseman Avenue and Commerce Street
  • Front Street at Underhill Avenue
  • Richard, Church and Harwood Place at Hanover Road

According to organizers, the parade will run from Moseman Avenue and Hanover Street, north to Undergill Avenue, down to Kear Street and Commerce Street and will follow Commerce Street to Veterans Road.
