Yorktown Man Accused Of Attempted Assault: Police

A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown resident was arrested for trying to assault and putting a child in danger as a result. Yorktown Police said Italo Martin, 41, of Longvue Street, was charged with third-degree attemped assault and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

Police said a school resource officer investigated a report of an alleged assault that occurred June 1 at Martin’s address.

After reviewing the evidence, police determined Martin allegedly tried to assault the victim and in doing so endangered a child’s welfare.

He was placed under arrest at his home.

Martin was processed, arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

The judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.

Martin is due to appear in Yorktown Court June 6.
