Yorktown's Hot and Humid Work Week Forecast

After a rather overcast and rainy weekend at times, the sun returned on Monday—of course.

Monday and Tuesday appear to be almost perfect weather days, and then in the middle of the week the thermometer spikes as we head toward 90 degrees.

There is a chance of some showers and/or storms Wednesday night into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said the start of the week will be "a rather beautiful mid-July day."

"Expect sunshine along with a few fair weather clouds to kick off the week… with low humidity levels, and seasonable highs in the low 80s," he said. "We’ll have a couple nice days (Monday and Tuesday)… before we’ll see the humidity really begin to spike on Wednesday."

The weekend looks OK as of right now. There's a chance of showers and storms on Saturday, with sunshine on Sunday with temps in the mid to upper 80s on both days.

Here is the forecast for northern Westchester and Putnam counties from the National Weather Service:

• Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. North wind around 8 mph.
• Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Calm wind.
• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the morning.
• Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.
• Thursday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
• Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 93.
• Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
