Pedestrian dies after being struck on Tunnel Road (citizen-times.com) — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night on Tunnel Road in Asheville, and police are still investigating while working to notify the person's family. The driver stayed at the scene, and this marks at least the fifth fatal pedestrian crash in the city this year, underscoring ongoing safety concerns for local walkers and drivers.

PGA TOUR returns to Asheville: What drivers need to know about traffic, parking (wlos.com) — Expect heavier traffic around Brevard Road and N.C. 191 as the PGA TOUR's Biltmore Championship comes to Asheville from Thursday through Sunday, with no full road closures but likely delays. Locals are urged to use I-26 when possible, allow extra commute time, and note that spectator parking and shuttles will run from Biltmore Park and downtown Asheville on specific days.
   

5. 25th Annual NewSong Music Competition (blueridgeoutdoors.com) — A major national music competition is celebrating its 25th anniversary with finals held in Asheville, where eight emerging artists from across North America will perform and compete before industry judges. Hosted by Citizen Vinyl, the seated show offers limited premium tickets and awards the winner a fully funded six-song EP and 300 vinyl records pressed right here.
