(spectrumlocalnews.com) — Drivers and walkers in Charlotte should prepare for a long detour as the I-277 south off-ramp to College Street closes for more than a year to build the $24 million Rail Trail Pedestrian Bridge linking Uptown and South End. Once finished, the bridge will connect about 40 miles of bikeways and sit steps from new businesses like Market on Morehead.
