• Rail Trail Pedestrian Bridge project in Charlotte one of several in N.C. (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Drivers and walkers in Charlotte should prepare for a long detour as the I-277 south off-ramp to College Street closes for more than a year to build the $24 million Rail Trail Pedestrian Bridge linking Uptown and South End. Once finished, the bridge will connect about 40 miles of bikeways and sit steps from new businesses like Market on Morehead.
   

• Mecklenburg County Sheriff calls for more community involvement to combat mental health issues (wbtv.com) — Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden is urging Charlotte residents to get more involved in supporting inmates with mental health challenges at the county jail.
