First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories today in Durham:

  1. Crews broke ground on the new Northern High School that will replace the existing school constructed in 1953. The new location on N. Roxboro Road will hold the three-story, 290,000 square-foot school. (CBS17)
  2. LGBTQIA+ business owners are celebrating as Durham has adopted a non-discrimination ordinance. (WRAL)
  3. Residents are calling for change at some of the 10 most dangerous intersections in the city. Individuals that live near some of the dangerous spots have written to Durham traffic officials with no word on fixes. (WRAL)
  4. A Durham man was reported missing on Monday. Joshua Lamont Johnson was found later that day around 5:30 pm in the trunk of a vehicle parked on Hope Valley Road. He was fatally shot, and police are now investigating the homicide. (abc11)
  5. North Carolina's labor commissioner has told North Carolinians that the state will not be enforcing the Biden administration's mandate regarding vaccines at large employers. Since a federal appeals court judge in Louisiana temporarily paused the mandate, the vaccination requirement will remain on hold while the legal case goes through the courts. (CBS17)
