  1. Elaine O'Neal was sworn in as mayor Monday in the midst of a pandemic and rampant gun violence. Councilman Mark-Anthony Middleton shared some of the obstacles she will have to overcome taking office. (abc11)
  2. US Highway 501 northbound was closed down for several hours on Monday after a crash involving a SUV and a semi truck occurred. (WRAL)
  3. The North Carolina Court of Appeals has made the decision to temporarily block candidate filing because of the dispute over new voting districts. The court has given defendants in the gerrymandering lawsuits until Thursday to respond why the districts should remain in place. (abc11)
  4. The City of Durham has released its first quarter financial report that shows a positive forecast. Revenue for the city is significantly up from this time last year. (Bull City Today)
  5. The Durham Board of County Commissioners has voted unanimously to re-elect Brenda Howerton as Chair and Wendy Jacobs as Vice Chair. (DurhamCountyGov Instagram)
