Happy National App Day Durham!

First, today's weather:

A shower and thunderstorm. High: 70 Low: 42.

Here are the top stories today in Durham:

  1. After the state Supreme Court's order to delay next year's primary, Republican legislators are calling the timeframe "impossible." The court is also fast-tracking the case challenging the districts, and it's worth noting that with the 2011 district maps, it wasn't until 2016 that the court deemed the districts unconstitutional and ordered a redraw. (CBS17)
  2. A Durham couple is demanding police accountability after an incident on October 10, that they believe was a result of profiling. The couple has stated that they demand body camera footage and compensation for emotional, mental, and physical damages. (abc11)
  3. A large home in north Durham caught fire on Friday morning. The blaze was under control in about 20 minutes thanks to the work of 39 firefighters. At this time, the fire is believed to be the result of an electrical issue. (WRAL)
  4. A woman in Durham had her vehicle stolen at knife point on Thursday night. The woman told Durham police that she was heading to her vehicle when approached by a man with a knife who demanded she hand over her keys. Apex Police spotted the vehicle later that night, but the driver refused to stop. A chase led into Chatham County where the suspect eventually fled on foot. (CBS17)
  5. Durham Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Streets at Southpoint on Wednesday. According to police, shortly after 6:00 pm "a group of several juveniles" approached three people in the food court and a fight ensued. One person involved in the confrontation reported a wallet and handgun stolen. (abc11)
