The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Durham.

Happy World Water Day Durham!
First, today's weather:
Nice with clouds and sun. High: 69 Low: 55.
Here are the top five stories today in Durham:
- The 2021 Police Satisfaction Survey was given to residents in September and results were presented to the city council during the February 24 work session. Residents say that the top priorities for police services should be efforts to prevent crime, increase visibility in neighborhoods and reduce response times. Respondents also expressed top priorities for the police department itself should be treating residents of different races and ethnicities equally and minimizing violent crime. (Bull City Today Facebook)
- The Little River Dam Embankment Settlement and Seepage Improvements project is moving forward. The dam was built between 1984 and 1987, and is classified as a large, high hazard structure. Signs of embankment settlement and concentrated seepage have been observed, and while they do not represent an imminent safety emergency, the improvements are necessary. (Bull City Today Facebook)
- Keep Durham Beautiful is seeking input for the Foster Street lot redesign. The goal is to make the city-owned lot at 313 Foster Street more usable for community members. Durham residents can give input via a survey here. That and more is in the City Manager's Report. (DurhamNC.Gov)
- The CBS17 Storm Team has declared Wednesday as an "Alert Day" due to the increasing threat of severe weather. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of central North Carolina under a level 2 out of 5 threat for severe storms. The main hazards to prepare for are damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. (CBS17)
