Here are the top four stories today in Durham:
- The WD Hill Recreation Center celebrated its grand reopening after a nearly $1 million renovation. The facility now has a new roof, a new HVAC system, and new windows throughout. The funds for the improvement came from Durham's Capital Improvement Project. (CBS17)
- A Saturday night hit-and-run has left a pregnant woman fighting life-threatening injuries. The crash was reported around 7:25 pm. Heven Rooks was driving and was hit by a car going the opposite direction. The driver of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade that hit Rooks, also damaged two parked vehicles and later crashed into two utility poles. (WRAL)
- The Durham County Sheriff's Office has identified the man who was found lying on Old Oxford Road on Saturday. The North Carolina Medical Examiner is looking at the body of Demario Boyd of Durham to try to determine a cause of death. (abc11)
- Associate Justices Phil Berger Jr. and Tamara Barringer wrote on Friday that they believe they can be fair and impartial in the lawsuit brought by the state NAACP. With this decision, the case involving voter ID laws will likely begin soon. (Spectrum News 1)
