Here are the top four stories in Durham today:
- Durham police have identified the two killed in an apartment complex shooting on Saturday morning. Elijah Hosea Everette and Aaron Michael Bailey were both 25 years old. Investigators said that they do not believe the shooting was random, contrary to an initial news release. Police have not released any suspect information at this time. (CBS17)
- Elijah Whitaker has been charged with larceny of a dog after voluntarily surrendering to Durham sheriff's. According to the sheriff's office, Whitaker has been released on an unsecured bond. The dog is safe with its littermates and up for adoption. (CBS17)
- Durham's St. Joseph AME Church held its Social Justice Sunday to raise awareness of issues that affect the community. On Sunday, pastor Dr. Jay Augustine focused on education access, and invited civil rights lawyer Dr. Gregory Vincent to speak. (abc11)
- Raleigh and Durham have both been ranked among the top 25 hardest working cities in America. The study ranked 116 cities, and Durham ranked 24th overall. The rankings considered 11 tracked metrics including average work week hours, employment rate, and more. (WRAL TechWire)
