• Issiah Ross Retrial Set For June 7, 2027 (thencbeat.com) — A long-delayed retrial in the killing of 14-year-old Lyric Woods, whose body was found near Buckhorn Road outside Efland, is now set for June 7, 2027, in Orange County Superior Court. Defendant Issiah Ross is already serving 20–25 years for Devin Clark's death, but prosecutors will again seek a first-degree murder conviction in Woods' case, which previously ended in a mistrial.
